Love Days Counter

When did it start?

Pick the date you got together

Enter the date it started and the counter returns exactly how long you have been together — in days, weeks, months, hours and minutes — then lists every milestone ahead with the date it lands on. All twelve milestones and their day counts are published below, so nothing about the arithmetic is hidden.

How long have we been together — what the counter measures

The counter measures elapsed whole days between your start date and today, then converts that one number into every other unit. Days is the primary figure because it is the only unit that never changes length.

One relationship, six units
Unit How it is derived Example at 1,886 days
DaysElapsed whole days1,886
WeeksDays ÷ 7, rounded down269
MonthsCalendar months, then leftover days61 months and 30 days
YearsCalendar years, then leftover5 years, 1 month, 30 days
HoursDays × 2445,264
MinutesDays × 1,4402,715,840

Hours and minutes are the reason people look for a love clock calculator rather than a plain date difference — the numbers get large fast, and 2.7 million minutes reads differently from five years.

Everything is computed in your browser from the date you type. Nothing is sent anywhere, nothing is stored, and closing the tab loses it — which is the point for anyone using this as a secret love date calculator.

Searches for a love calculator how many days are asking for elapsed time rather than a compatibility percentage, which is why this tool returns a count of days and no score at all. For a percentage from two names, use the love calculator by name.

The twelve milestones and their exact day counts

The counter tracks twelve milestones, and the day count for each is fixed. Mixed day-based and year-based markers are used, because couples celebrate both.

Every milestone the counter tracks
Milestone Days Roughly
100 days1003 months and 9 days
6 months182Half a calendar year
1 year365One year
500 days5001 year, 4 months
2 years730Two years
1000 days1,0002 years, 9 months
3 years1,095Three years
5 years1,826Five years
2000 days2,0005 years, 6 months
10 years3,652Ten years
5000 days5,00013 years, 8 months
20 years7,305Twenty years

The year figures use 365.2 days rather than 365, which is why 10 years shows as 3,652 days and 20 years as 7,305. That extra day every four years is a leap day, and ignoring it would put a twenty-year milestone five days early.

Which start date should you use?

Use the date you both agree on, and use it consistently. There is no correct answer, and couples pick different events.

  • First meeting — the longest count, and the one that produces the biggest numbers.
  • First date — the most common choice, and the one most love date calculator tools assume.
  • First kiss — popular where the relationship built slowly and no single date stands out.
  • Going official — the clearest boundary, and usually the shortest count.
  • Wedding day — for married couples counting the marriage rather than the relationship.

The only real mistake is changing it later. A count restarted from a different event resets every milestone, and a 1,000-day mark you already celebrated stops being true.

Why 6 months is 182 days

Because a calendar month has no fixed length, and half a year does not divide cleanly into days. A year is 365 days, so half of it is 182.5, and the counter rounds down to 182.

Six calendar months from 14 June is 14 December, which is 183 days in a common year and 184 in a leap year. So the day-based six-month mark and the calendar six-month mark fall on different days, usually one or two apart.

Where the two ways of counting diverge
Milestone Day-based Calendar-based Typical gap
6 months182 daysSame date, six months on1–2 days
1 year365 daysSame date next year0 days, or 1 after a leap day
2 years730 daysSame date two years on0–1 days
10 years3,652 daysSame date ten years on0–2 days

Neither is wrong. A love calendar calculator that counts by date and one that counts by days will disagree by a day or two, and that is the calendar being awkward rather than either tool being broken.

Leap years, and why counts drift from anniversaries

A leap day adds 29 February to the year, so any count spanning one gains a day relative to the calendar. Over ten years that is two or three extra days.

The effect is invisible for the yearly anniversary, which always lands on the same date. It shows up on the round-number milestones: a 1,000-day mark for a couple who started in March 2023 falls on a different calendar date from one who started in March 2024, because only one of those counts crosses a leap day.

The counter handles this by working in absolute elapsed days rather than by adding months to a date. That is also why it is safe across timezones — the arithmetic never depends on what time of day you open the page.

A worked example

A couple who started on 14 June 2021, counted on 13 August 2026.

Eight milestones behind, four ahead. The next one is 114 days out, which is the kind of number a love anniversary calculator is actually useful for: enough notice to plan something.

Day-count milestones vs calendar anniversaries

A calendar anniversary repeats on one date every year; a day-count milestone happens once and never again. They are different kinds of occasion and both are worth keeping.

The yearly anniversary is easy to remember and easy to share. Day-count milestones — 100, 500, 1,000, 2,000 — arrive on odd dates in the middle of ordinary weeks, which is exactly what makes them feel like a private thing between two people rather than a diary entry.

Anyone using this as a love relationship days calculator generally wants both: the anniversary for the family and the day count for the two of them.

What people do at each milestone

  • 100 days — the first one that arrives quickly. Usually marked with something small.
  • 6 months — the first milestone that gets mentioned to other people.
  • 1 year — the anniversary proper, and the one most couples celebrate every year after.
  • 500 days — lands about four and a half months after the first anniversary, and is easy to miss without a counter.
  • 1000 days — the milestone people most often plan for, roughly two years and nine months in.
  • 5 years and beyond — the round years take over, and the day counts become a curiosity.

There is no tradition attached to any of these. The number of days in love calculator results is not a rule about what you should do; it is a prompt, and the only useful part is that it arrives before the date rather than after it.

Frequently asked questions

How does the love days counter work?

It counts whole elapsed days between your start date and today, then converts that single number into weeks, months, years, hours and minutes. Everything is computed in your browser.

How many days have we been together?

Enter your start date above and the counter returns the exact figure, along with weeks, months, hours and minutes, and the next milestone with the date it falls on.

Which date should I count from?

Whichever event you both agree on — first meeting, first date, first kiss or the day you made it official. There is no correct answer, but changing it later resets every milestone.

How many days is 6 months in a relationship?

182 days in this counter. A year is 365 days and half of that is 182.5, rounded down. Counting six calendar months instead gives 183 or 184 days, so the two methods land a day or two apart.

How long is 1000 days in a relationship?

1,000 days is about 2 years and 9 months. It falls roughly four months after the second anniversary, and it is the milestone couples most often plan something for.

Is this love anniversary calculator free?

Yes. It is free with no sign-up and no limits, and it works as often as you like.

Is my start date stored anywhere?

No. The date is processed in your browser and never sent to a server. Closing the tab loses it, which matters if you are using this privately.

Does the counter handle leap years?

Yes. It works in absolute elapsed days rather than adding months to a date, so a count spanning 29 February includes that day. Year milestones use 365.2 days, which is why ten years shows as 3,652.

Can I enter a future date?

No. The counter measures time already elapsed, so a start date in the future is rejected rather than shown as a negative count.

Which milestones does it track?

Twelve: 100 days, 6 months, 1 year, 500 days, 2 years, 1000 days, 3 years, 5 years, 2000 days, 10 years, 5000 days and 20 years. Each shows the exact date it falls on and how far away it is.

Is this a love calculator for how many days we have been together?

Yes. A love calculator how many days is a different question from a compatibility score: it needs one start date, not two names, and it returns an exact figure rather than an estimate. This page answers that question and publishes every milestone it counts towards.
